Behaviour Matrix

LPES endeavors to ensure a safe and caring learning environment for all students. A safe, caring, and inclusive school is a place where all partners (students, staff, parents, and community members) are safe from harm, treat others fairly with respect and kindness, and act in a socially responsible way towards all members of the school community. To ensure this, LPES has developed the following safe school policy including:

1.School Wide Expectations

2.LPES Behavior Action Plan (Discipline with Dignity)

3.LPES Threatening Behavior Guidelines (Fair Notice Letter)

School Wide Expectations:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
  • Be Safe
  • Be Kind

LPES School Behaviour Action Plan (Discipline With Dignity):

  • LPES, maintaining the dignity of each person, in all situations, is crucial in developing responsibility and in managing Effective discipline comes from the belief that teaching individuals to take responsibility for their behaviour is more motivating to create positive changes in behaviour than teaching individuals to be obedient to avoid punishment.
  • LPES we believe in the responsibility model of discipline. By implementing logical and consistent consequences and by providing individuals with opportunities to become responsible and caring members of the community, they will learn about their behaviour, their choices, and their impact on others while still maintaining their dignity.

LPES Discipline Goal:

LPES’s discipline goal is to continue to build a caring culture within our school community. A culture where students, staff, parents, and our community partners encourage, value, and support one another (abuse, bullying and discrimination will be not tolerated).
